1996 versions of the Cadillac Seville sported a much improved riding experience
owing to a stiffened chassis which greatly reduced engine noise and delivered
a more stable feel. Overall, successive improvements on various strategic mechanical
aspects of the Cadillac Seville STS resulted in a refined performance for the
1996 version.

The 1996 Cadillac Seville SLS is fitted with a 4.6-liter (278.6 cubic inch) V8
DOHC SMPI 32 valve engine matched to a 4-speed electronic automatic transmission
with overdrive. This front wheel drive also has an electronic ignition, 140 amp
alternator, 730 CCA battery, transmission lock-up and 3.71 axle ratio. Steering
and suspension system boasts of hydraulic power-assist steering, 4-wheel disc
brakes, automatic ride control, regular ride suspension, front strut suspension,
front anti-roll bar, rear anti-roll bar and front and rear 16.0' diameter alloy
wheels Interior features include front bucket seats, 6-way adjustable driver seat
with power reclining, power height adjustable, power 2-way lumbar support, leather
faced front seats and carpeted floor mats. Safety features are composed of 4-wheel
anti-lock braking system, daytime running lights, dual airbags and security system.
