1991 Cadillac Seville review

1991 brought the arrival of a 4.9 Liter V8 which amplified the horsepower to
200hp and torque reached 275 ft-lbs. An electronically controlled four-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive matches the V8 Northstar. Integrated into the transmission
was a Cadillac restricted viscous converter clutch that improves fuel economy
and sustains better ride handling. The Cadillac Seville of 1991 was further improved
with the arrival of a new speed sensitive suspension known as Computer Command
Ride (CCR). CCR kept the car stable during acceleration and braking. The CCR used
accelerometers to sense lateral acceleration regulated to diminish irregular body
movements leading to instability during driving. CCR also regulated the shock
absorber firmness in accordance with the speed of the vehicle and the terrain.
The 1991 Cadillac Seville is the Seville to be released by Cadillac for this period,
1992 signals a new kind of Seville with a much improved design and mechanical
prowess.
